In this section, we will first take a look at a typical example, in casu electromechanical motor control (please be assured that the CLP technology is certainly not restricted to this field of application).
We will then take a look at the 2 different methods that will be provided for building a solution (building should be understood here in its broadest sense and includes code generation and validation):
- the most straightforward method is model-based design, whereby a mathematical model in Simulink will be used as the starting base. We will refer to this method as the Simulink-based approach
- An alternative is to build a solution without using a model but using a higher level language, notably C. This will be referred to as the C-based approach.
Finally, we will take a closer look at what the user needs to know in order to build his application.
